Dr. Iris Stovall

Iris Stovall is the Director of the Illinois Virtual Campus (IVC) for the state of Illinois, with offices on the Urbana-Champaign campus of the University of Illinois. Prior to becoming the IVC Director in August 2003, she was the director of the Illinois Online Network (ION). She came to ION in 1997 from the Chemistry department of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she was the Assistant Director of the General Chemistry program. She used Internet and other innovative technologies in teaching undergraduate chemistry, and published a multimedia CD of chemistry lessons for freshmen. She created the Making the Virtual Classroom a Reality (MVCR) online faculty development program for ION, and has designed, created and taught online MVCR courses.

Her interests include instructional technologies, faculty development, and information and computer technologies in the Middle East. Stovall received her B.A. from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and her M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
